Together, We Can Turn Movement into a Daily Wellness Routine.
Why Myotone
Myotone Physiotherapy was founded by Anson Xu with a vision to redefine what physiotherapy could be. Not simply a place where pain is treated, but a place where people learn to understand their bodies. Pain often becomes the focus of treatment, but rarely the beginning of understanding. Symptoms may improve, yet without understanding why they developed, the same story is often repeated.
At Myotone, we believe pain is rarely the problem. Pain is information. It is the body's language. A signal that something within its movement, balance, or mechanics has changed. Treating the symptom without understanding its message may bring relief, but understanding is what creates lasting change. This belief became the foundation of Myotone.
Rather than chasing symptoms, we look at the body as an interconnected system, because the site of pain is not always the source of the problem. Every symptom has a story. Our responsibility is to understand that story before deciding how to treat it.

One of the driving forces behind Myotone is making the principles of sports science accessible beyond elite sport and into everyday life. The human body doesn't distinguish between an Olympian, a parent lifting a child, an office worker at a desk, or someone simply wanting to stay active. The principles that govern human movement apply to everyone. We believe the knowledge behind them should too.

This philosophy shapes every consultation at Myotone.

Treatment is a conversation, an investigation, and an opportunity to learn. We encourage our patients to ask questions, challenge their understanding, and leave every session knowing more about their body than when they arrived. Because knowledge doesn't come after treatment. It is part of the treatment itself. Our goal isn't to create patients who need us forever. It's to help people understand their bodies well enough that one day, they might not.

The name Myotone reflects this philosophy. "Myo" represents muscles, while "tone" represents the balance, control, and harmony that allow the body to move as it was designed to. Our purpose isn't simply to reduce pain. It's to restore efficient movement, optimise function, and help people reconnect with the body they live in every day.

Our geometric heart logo symbolises the meeting point of science and compassion. The geometric form represents precision, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice. The heart represents empathy, trust, and genuine human connection, because we believe the best care is grounded in both.

Physiotherapy isn't just about relieving pain.

It's about rebuilding the conversation between you and your body.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?
No, you do not need a referral to see a physiotherapist for most conditions. However, if you are seeking treatment through workers’ compensation, motor vehicle accident claims, or other insurance claims, a referral may be required.
What should I expect during my first physiotherapy session?
Your initial consultation will involve an in-depth assessment, including a discussion of your medical history, symptoms, and goals. We will perform physical tests and movements to identify the root cause of your problem and then work together to develop a personalized treatment plan.
Can I claim physiotherapy through Medicare?
Yes, you can claim physiotherapy through Medicare under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan (formerly the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan) if you have a chronic medical condition. To be eligible, your GP must create a care plan and refer you to a physiotherapist. Medicare provides up to 5 allied health services per year under this plan, which can include physiotherapy. If you’re not eligible for the CDM plan, private health insurance may help cover physiotherapy costs.
